Hello all and welcome newcomers:

In my last e-mail I had only worked on new books. I’ve caught up on my magazine and website entries, so I’m sending out the link again and suggesting a look at the articles and websites lists. If you are interested in any of the articles, please do contact me.

New books, articles and website lists

We are circulating to Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation members. The circulation period for books is 3 weeks with 2 renewals if no one else wants the item. You can renew by e-mail, phone or in person, but not on the online catalog. The circulation period for current magazines is 3 days with 2 renewals if no one else wants the item.

Don’t forget Beer for Books and the L. A. Garden Show, May 1-3, 2009

During our upcoming L.A. Garden Show the Arboretum Library hosts a delightful Beer Garden tucked nearby the garden designers’ exhibit space in the Water Conservation Garden shade pavilion. The award winning Pasadena microbrewery Craftsman will feature two different brews for your enjoyment. The Beer Garden also features our used book sale. Susan Eubank, librarian and bartender, brings out the duplicate donations from the Arboretum Library. This allows the public to purchase used garden and plant books and magazines. The proceeds from the sales of beverages and the used materials all benefit the New Book Fund for the Arboretum Library.

And we need your donations now!

Please bring your plant and garden used book and magazines donations to the Arboretum Library, so we can use them for the sale at the LA Garden Show. For more information about donations, please contact me at 626-821-3213 or Susan.Eubank@Arboretum.org.

Our Botanical Information Consultants (for plant advice) are currently available seven days a week. David.Lofgren@Arboretum.org or Frank.McDonough@Arboretum.org or 626-821-3239.
