This is a series of linked databases. Those of interest to botanists and plant folks are the combined vascular plant herbaria of Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, Desert Botanical Garden, the Navajo Nation, Grand Canyon National Park and the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. The lichen herbaria of Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and Arizona State University are also present. It also includes the Arizona State University’s seed and fruits collection and pollen collection. Some images occur of scanned herbaria specimens and photographs.

Celebrating Wildflowers

http://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers

“is dedicated to the enjoyment of the thousands of wildflowers growing on our national forests and grasslands and to educating the public about the many values of native plants.”

This is a very developed site with suggestions for wildflower viewing in various regions including our own. There are also sections for kids, teachers, those interested in gardening with natives and invasives.

Garden-Based Learning

Compilation of gardening activities, projects, and other resources "for educators, volunteers, and parents working with children and youth." Some of the project themes include the food system, plants and textiles, produce marketing, and landscaping. Includes downloadable publications on topics such as city gardening, apples, peanuts, rice, and "the three sisters" (corn, beans, and squash). From the Cornell University Department of Horticulture.
